About American English Coonhound

Meet the American English Coonhound! These charming fur buddies carry an air of affable curiosity and endless energy, making every day an adventure. Standing around 23 to 26 inches and weighing between 45 to 65 pounds, their sleek, muscular build is cloaked by a beautiful short-haired coat, typically boasting patterns of tricolor or bicolor ticks.

Coonhounds are sociable beings with a sunny and sometimes stubborn disposition that thrives on companionship. They love spending time outdoors; running, tracking, or just exploring with their humans. A playful wrestling match with children or a brisk walk around the neighborhood - they're always game!

Bear in mind though, their original job was hunting and tracking, and they carry an impressive endurance level. A good daily exercise routine is non-negotiable to keep them healthy and happy. Regular grooming is pretty straightforward, thanks to their short coat.

But what makes Coonhounds truly special is their expressive face full of friendliness and their extraordinary tracking skills. Their amazing scenting ability can only be outperformed by the Bloodhound. Just imagine, your own personal detective, always up for new scent adventures right in the comfort of your home!
