About Portuguese Podengo

Meet the Portuguese Podengo! This sporty, lively breed is originally from Portugal and is known for its bright personality and distinctive look. Sporting a lean, muscular body, Podengos come in three sizes: small, medium, and large. Each one wears a coat of either short or wire-haired fur, which is easy to manage with regular brushing.

Podengos are like sunny days in dog form: warm, energetic, and sure to put a smile on your face. They're playful, eager to learn, and thrive on activity. They get along with kids and other pets, making them a great choice for families. But bear in mind, they're also intelligent and independent (a unique combination indeed) which means they need mental stimulation, off-leash play, and some patience with training.

Their special talent? Hunting skills! Traditionally, they were used as rabbit hunters which makes their sense of sight and smell sharp as a tack. This means you'll have a superior companion for exploring the great outdoors. With a Portuguese Podengo, life is sure to be an adventure filled with fun, action, and tons of love.
