Dog Heart Rate Checker

A dog's normal resting heart rate varies by size. Toy breeds can have 100–160 bpm; large breeds 60–100 bpm. Check if your dog's pulse is normal.

How to Measure Your Dog's Heart Rate at Home

  1. 1.Place your dog on their side in a relaxed position.
  2. 2.Find the femoral artery on the inner thigh — press gently until you feel a pulse.
  3. 3.Count the beats for 15 seconds and multiply by 4 (or count for 30 seconds and multiply by 2).
BPM

Measure at rest when calm. Exercise, excitement, and fear can elevate BPM significantly.
